Top 7 unusual cartoons

English section

Someone will say that cartoons are children’s entertainment, but I will not agree. Of course, there are cartoons aimed exclusively at children’s audience, but at the same time there are many ones whose fans are adults. Cartoons can make you laugh and make you think, help you believe in true love and inspire for new achievements. Sometimes they can even suggest a solution to our problems. I offer my personal top cartoons, which, I hope, will change your attitude to this magical industry.

1. Gravity Falls

The animated series tells about the adventures of twins Dipper and Mabel, who spend their summer holidays with gruncle Stan in a town called Gravity Falls. Dipper and Mabel start working for their gruncle in the Mystery Shack (this is the place where he tries to cash in on tourists by showing them fake horrors). Is it really such a bore for all 3 months? Summer is under threat.

But it was not there: one day Dipper finds a diary in which the secrets of the city are revealed, but the entries in the diary break off, because the one who wrote them was kidnapped… The «twin detectives» begin an investigation. Zombies, gnomes, a giant baby’s head — who else will they meet on their way? And will they be able to get to the truth?

2. Regular show

The action of the series takes place in an unusual world: there are talking animals, evil spirits and revived household appliances. The two main characters, Mordecai and Rigby, work in a city park, lazy guys are always trying to slip away from work, but they constantly get into some situations.

For example, once they worked as babysitters near death and, returning to the past, broke time. The situations they get into sometimes seem hopeless, but in the end they manage to get out of trouble thanks to the help of friends. Their friends are the bigfoot Skips, the gum machine Benson, Hi Five Ghost, as well as Pops and MuscleMan. The animated series is not connected by a whole plot, each episode is a separate story, where there is a lot of humor, a little drama and a drop of fear…

3. Over the garden wall

Despite the fact that the series is very short (only 10 episodes), it plunges headlong into the atmosphere of mysteries and riddles. The plot centers on two brothers, Wirth and Greg, who are looking for a way home from an Unexplored forest full of witches, ghosts and hunters. Each episode reveals new characters, captivates and raises various problems. There are many philosophical theories on this animated series. Perhaps after watching it you will add your own?

4. Star VS the forces of evil

For her careless behavior, Princess Star Butterfly is sent to Earth. The princess’s parents for a lot of money determined her to study at an American school, but it’s not interesting for Star: she is attracted by adventures, unexplored places and new discoveries. Star Butterfly falls into the Diaz family by exchange, where she meets Marco. This couple is expected to travel between worlds, witchcraft, fighting the forces of evil and other adventures.

5. Rick and Morty

This cartoon is definitely not worth watching with your parents. The series is dedicated to the adventures of a grandfather and grandson. It seems nothing unusual, but that’s until you get to know these characters better. Grandpa Rick Sanchez is a brilliant scientist, but he has a couple of disadvantages: he is a drug addict, an alcoholic and just a madman.

Marty’s insecure grandson, deprived of the love of his parents, his only goal in life is to seduce a classmate Jessica. Rick and Morty travel all over the universe, get into other dimensions, hide from the intergalactic police and have a good time.

6. Phineas&Ferb

There’s hundred and four days of summer vacation and the school comes along just to end them

Phineas and Ferb devote their summer to the implementation of complex and dangerous projects: an elevator to the moon, a time machine, the largest roller coaster, a portal to Mars. And the main summer goal of their older sister Candice is to inform on them to her mother. However, her attempts always end in failure.

In this family there is also a pet lazy stupid platypus Perry. But that’s what his owners think, in fact Perry is a secret agent who thwarts the attempts of the evil scientist Fufelshmertz to take over the world using his unsuccessful inventions — inators…

7. The amazing world of Gumball

If you think that your family is unusual, then you just haven’t met the Watterson family yet. The blue cat Gumball, who is not very smart and quick-witted, the goldfish Darwin, Nicole mom, who provides for the whole family, the head of the family is a fat pink rabbit named Richard and the little rabbit Anais is the only adequate member of the family. This company constantly violates public order and gets into all sorts of troubles, which they overcome with optimism.

However, they do not learn from their mistakes. The animated series at first glance looks like a children’s cartoon, but behind the mask of carelessness lies a comedy with black humor and sharp jokes. Another feature of the animated series: all the characters are animated in different ways, which makes viewing even more exciting.
